Cardinal Hume Centre - the Surgery
The centre supports homeless young people and badly housed families as well as local people with little or no income, enabling people to gain the skills they need to break out of poverty and build better lives.
The centre offers a 32-bedroom hostel for homeless 16–21 year olds, and an 8-bed Hostel for people in recovery from substance misuse.
Services include:
- Employment advice
- Housing advice
- Money management advice, including welfare benefits advice
- Child and family services
- English language classes
- IT training
- Immigration advice
- Numeracy and Literacy advice support
- Medical Centre including substance misuse advice
The centre has a fully-fledged medical surgery together with a specialist drug and alcohol service.
